Barbera, when given its due and planted on higher slopes in elevation, creates a stunning example of a wine that is both rich and complex.  Aging the wine is French Oak barrels developed mocha aromas and provides extra layers of depth.  Barbera is believed to have originated in the hills of central Piemote Italy in the late 1200's.  We are thrilled to have transplanted it to our Baby Rattlesnake Vineyard at 2300 feet in elevation near the town of Fair Play in the Sierra Foothills.

Founder Robert Jones purchased Firefall’s El Dorado County estate vineyards with the dream of honoring his grandfather’s winegrowing legacy. With a commitment to sustainable farming, the year-round nurturing of each vine culminates in hand harvested grapes that are fermented and aged with the lightest possible touch to create wines expressing a sense of place and distinction in the bottle.
