    Details

Founder Robert Jones purchased Firefall’s El Dorado County estate vineyards with the dream of honoring his grandfather’s winegrowing legacy. With a commitment to sustainable farming, the year-round nurturing of each vine culminates in hand harvested grapes that are fermented and aged with the lightest possible touch to create wines expressing a sense of place and distinction in the bottle.

The Grenache grape is the number one grown grape in California. This classic Southern Rhone wine grape is packed with rich ripe berry flavors with a tough of spiciness and a lighter fruit-burst finish. This wine exudes the character of the Rhone River Valley Appellation Gigondasand having that powerful hint of smokiness and soft tannin. The wine also exhibits full round fruit flavors and shows the traditional earth tone Rhone style.

In the video: "My name is Mick and I am here at E16 Winery in Fair Play California. That’s up here in El Dorado County in the area of Somerset. We are right at the Fairplay Corner.  I’ve got three different wines I’m showing you today- we’ve got Grenache Blanc which is coming from our own vineyard up here at the baby Rattlesnake Vineyard up off of Grizzly Flat Road, off Myers lane.

This is 100% Grenache Blanc grown at the Baby Rattlesnake Vineyard. The Grenache Blanc tends to have very high acids on the front, beautiful bright acids on the front end. When it first hits your tongue you’ll taste green apples, maybe a little bit of pineapple, and especially on the finish with the pineapple because you get another bright wash of acids over your tongue. It makes you salivate just a little bit, and makes you want to have one more sip."
