We’re here to introduce you to the Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Franc has been done very well in the Foothills. It seems like its one of those varietals that gained a lot of structure. And I would say the tendency of our wines and grapes in the foothills  is more fruit, they express more fruit, and spiciness. And fruit doesn’t mean sweetness, because the Cabernet Franc is completely dry; but you have those reflexes in your pallet of fruit that comes from particular vintages like the 2013. So it make s big and structured Cabernet Franc, but soft and elegant.

This particular Cabernet Franc is an estate wine, it comes from a vineyard that I’m very attached to, because its a vineyard I planted when I’d just moved from Italy in 1998, and that was in honor of my daughter Ilania’s birthday. The beauty of this wine, is that it starts with some of the fruit, like dark r ed fruit, and it goes into the spiciness typical of the Cabernet Franc at the end of your tasting. Everything lingers very well because the acidity is pretty high and it brings all the flavors back to your pallet after you taste.
