Greater El Dorado Wineries

The Greater El Dorado Wineries are located in an area beginning in Placerville and extending west to Shingle Springs along highway 50.  The area also extends north along highway 49 through the Gold Discovery site in Coloma and Pilot Hill.   This area is more spread out, but still includes beautiful wineries with gift shops, picnic areas, and other family oriented fun including overnight facilities.

The Greater El Dorado wineries are located at a lower altitude that other areas of the region and the elevation is reflected in the grape varieties, terroir, and in the wines themselves.  Visit the area and compare the wines with the other sub-regions of El Dorado County.
