You’ll be a fan! – just like that – BadaBing!

The Grenache grape is the number one grown grape in California. This classic Southern Rhone wine grape is packed with rich ripe berry flavors with a tough of spiciness and a lighter fruit-burst finish. This wine exudes the character of the Rhone River Valley Appellation Gigondasand having that powerful hint of smokiness and soft tannin. The wine also exhibits full round fruit flavors and shows the traditional earth tone Rhone style.

Barbera has its roots in the Piedmont region of Italy where it has grown for more than a thousand years. Italian immigrants brought Barbera rootstock to the Napa and Central Valleys in the early part of this century where it is widely grown. California Barberas are known for long-aging, robust red wines with intense fruit, snappy acidity and enhanced tannic content.  This 'monopole' wine comes from a single vineyard in Lotus. Jack and Diane Wohler produces some of the best Barbera fruit we have ever seen. When young, the wines offer a very intense aroma of fresh black berries along with notes of cherries, blueberries and black cherries.

Together at 50% you'll find a long smooth mouthfeel of black cherry.

"I’m Mike Owen and you’re in the barrel room of Crystal Basin Cellars. This building was built in 1920, so its ninety plus years old, and it’s got that character that kind of matches El Dorado County.

This particular one is called BadaBing! Its meant to be kind of fun. Its a blend of Barbera, Grenache, and Merlot. Its meant to be a wine you might have with grilled salmon… you might have a caprese salad… Its a really excellent patio wine that goes with food, and made for that."
