Ruggero MastroserioMeet The Wine Maker - Ruggero Mastroserio

Ruggero is an accomplished winemaker with extensive experience managing the entire winemaking process. Holding degrees in engineering, geology, and music, he also trained in enology in Italy with Mario Maffi and Mattia Vezzola. Before founding Mastroserio Winery, Ruggero made a name for himself by crafting award-winning wines at Latcham and Granite Springs Wineries, and before that as the CFO of Oliver Vineyards in Somerset. His wines have won hundreds of awards - in both domestic and international competitions.

Since 2010, Ruggero (pronounced “roo-jer-o” with a trill) has been hand crafting wines from estate vineyards as well as from some of the premier local vineyards.

Mastroserio Winery's first three years of production included Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot, Merlot, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Zinfandel, Barbera, Tempranillo, Teroldego, Sangiovese, Charbono, Sauvignon Blanc, Fiano, Greco di Tufo and Chardonnay.

" Hi Everybody, this is Ruggero Mastroserio, I’m the owner and I make the wines, so I’m the wine maker at Mastroserio Winery. It’s my pleasure being here. Just to introduce you to the winery. I’ve been here in the states since 1998 and I’ve been making wine since ’98 I started to make wines as a wine maker for larger wineries for twelve years and then I opened my own winery, Mastroserio Winery with my own label that comes out with my signature. It’s a boutique winery. We have a limited production. I would say 1500 to 2000 cases a year. For me, making wines is a real passion. That’s why I’m here in the states and the beautiful area of Fair Play. "
